We aim to accommodate the needs of our clients while providing an excellent service. We understand that life happens and plans can change. However, we do expect clients to attend sessions or give us 24 hours notice when the cannot attend. In the event of no or late notification, a cancellation fee of 50% of the booked session fee will be charged. Your booking holds the space for you, and when we are not given adequate notice, we cannot endeavour to offer that slot to another client in a timely manner.

Couples and families – $170

About your therapy experience

The first session is more of a getting-to-know-you session. Some administration occurs, but for the most part, it’s an opportunity to talk about your challenge and its impact on you. We then work together to formulate a way forward or a plan.

First sessions can be anxiety-provoking, whether an individual or a couple. Come prepared by knowing this will be a safe environment; you can be yourself, and these are your sessions. The first session will be about you sharing what your challenges are and the impact on you. Most times, I will ask about your family, your support and how you take care of yourself.

Depending on what the issues are, most clients feel like they have achieved some or all of their therapeutic goals within 4 – 10 sessions. There are instances where more sessions are needed, but often, the frequency is reduced.

Sessions are 50 minutes long.

I use an integrated approach. As I believe there is no ‘one fits all’ type of psychotherapy. Depending on the needs of the client(s) we may use one approach or an integration of the following: Person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Gestalt, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Imago, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman modalities, Narrative approaches and Solution Focused Therapy. When requested: Christian/ faith-based approach.

All sessions are confidential, from the rooms to the note-keeping but there are 3 instances where confidentiality may be breached:
– If there is a risk of harm to self or others
– Notes are subpoenaed by a court of law
– Permission is given to share some information with another professional e.g. a GP.
